The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania and Bucharest is a non-governmental, public-interest, self-sufficient organization meant to promote Romanian trade and industries both at home and abroad, and to defend the interests of Romanian traders before the domestic authorities and in their relations with specialized foreign organizations.
The members of CCIRB are companies, professional organizations, non-governmental organization, other organizations and territorial chambers of commerce and industry.
The internal structure of CCIRB has two components:
- Department for National Level;
- Department for Bucharest.
The organizational and functional structure of the Department for National Level of CCIRB is as follows:

� Assistance to company formation and operation;
� Promotion of business contacts:
     � bilateral and multilateral business partnerships;
     � organization of fairs, exhibitions and commercial events at home and abroad;  
     � organization of Romanian business missions abroad;
     � organization of foreign business missions to Romania;
     � advertising and commercial promotion;
     � charts of top companies;
� High-standard distribution of products and services;
� Quality guarantee of products and services, standardization;
� Assistance in matters of ecology and consumer protection;
� Basic information and co-operation in local development problems;
� Reception of signals from businesses with regard to regulations in force and initiation of new legislative norms and regulations;
� Organization of meetings with Chamber members and other businesses located in Bucharest and in the country;
� Organization of focused debates on topical problems of general concern to the end of promoting economic development and upsurge in business;
� Initiation of meetings with policy-makers and other decision-making factors for the benefit of the business community;
� Development of programme-documents of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania and Bucharest with regard to economic, financial and investment problems and forwarding of these documents to relevant bodies;
� Diffusion among businesses in Bucharest and in the country of local, national and international regulations of major importance to the Romanian business community;
� Partnerships with similar Romanian and foreign organizations, including signing of co-operation protocols and agreements.
� Short-term advanced courses in business organization, management and programming;
� Organization of symposia, colloquia and round tables focused on business training.
CCIRB major goal-mission: A THRIVING BUSINESS COMMUNITY
The main objectives:
- Support and promotion for the benefit of businesses in the field of industry, agriculture, trade, tourism and services;
- Representation and protection of the Romanian business community's interests in relation to policy-making bodies at local and national level;
- Occupational training and further training of economic operators in Bucharest and in the country;
All these goal-missions are developed by a wide range of specific forms and methods drawing on the national and international experience of chambers of commerce, with the contribution of the departments and offices of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania and Bucharest, as well as of the commercial companies in which the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania and Bucharest holds the controlling interest.
